One Occupant Arrested In Connection To Stolen Vehicle & Firearms In Frankfort

The Frankfort Police Department released information regarding a large police presence that was witnessed this morning, March 14 on Wabash Street and St. Mary’s Avenue regarding suspects in a case revolving around a stolen vehicle.

just before 8:45 a.m., the Frankfort Police Department was reportedly asked by the Lafayette Police Department to observe for a stolen vehicle out of their jurisdiction, and the driver also allegedly stole firearms that were present within the vehicle.

Around 8:52 a.m., Lt. Chris Salaba reportedly located the vehicle, and a felony traffic stop was conducted by the officers. Two occupants were detained in the incident. One occupant was reportedly released while the other was transferred to Lafayette officers.

The Indiana Department of Natural Resources Law Enforcement Division assisted the department during the investigation.

No further information will be released by the Frankfort Police Department.
