Kenneth Kern Thompson, 85, of rural Frankfort, passed away on April 16, 2025 at Mulberry Health. He was born January 4, 1940 in Manson, Indiana to Carlos Sewell & Verda Pearl (Amyx) Thompson. He married Sandra K. Truitt on November 21, 1965 at the New Hope Church and she survives.

Ken and Sandry owned and operated the Country Oak Gallery for 17 years. Ken was also a Lay Minister for many years serving several churches as needed. He was a member of the New Hope Church and helped organize the Kings Spirit Singing group there. He was also a member of the Jefferson Masonic Lodge. He enjoyed collecting military memorabilia, especially researching information about the 10th Indiana Regiment during the Civil War. He spent many hours working on Cushman Scooters and doing yard work. In the past few years, Ken has attended and enjoyed basketball, football, track, cross country and golf meets, watching his grandsons participating for Clinton Prairie.
Ken is survived by his wife, Sandra, daughter, Amanda J. (Jason) Whitlock, PhD of Clinton County, three grandsons, Wesley, Seth and Rhett Whitlock. He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Carlos “Chink” Thompson and sister, Joan Goldsberry.
Visitation will be 10 a.m.-1 p.m. Monday, April 21, 2025 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. The funeral service will begin at 1 p.m. with Shan Sheridan officiating.
