
In 1959, she married the love of her life, Richard Lee McPeak. Their devoted marriage lasted 54 years until Richard’s passing in 2013.
Shirley is survived by her three sons: Richard (Pat) McPeak of Thorntown, Stephen “Steve” and Christopher “Chris” McPeak, both of Lebanon. She was a proud grandmother to five grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy.
A dedicated member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Shirley was deeply involved in her community. She was a spirited competitor, known for her award-winning bowling skills and her love of bingo. Her kitchen was a place of legendary comfort. Her fried chicken, homemade noodles, and breaded tenderloin were beloved staples at family gatherings and among friends.
Shirley had a passion for storytelling, sports, and spirited debates. She also enjoyed collecting Oriental décor, doting on her cats, and expressing herself through fashion. Known for her bold sense of style, she favored animal prints, statement jewelry, and signature big hair, always worn with confidence and flair.
Above all, Shirley will be remembered for her infectious laugh. She leaves behind a legacy of love, humor, and a life lived fully. She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her.
Funeral Services will be held at 12:00 noon on Thursday, May 22, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of service. Cremation will follow services.
