Chrisanne Lasley

Chrisanne “Chris” Lasley, 66, passed away peacefully on Monday, November 10, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at her home. Chris was born on July 10, 1959, in Lebanon to Lawrence “L.D.” and Erma (Shoemaker) Witmer.

She was raised in Lebanon and graduated from Lebanon Senior High School in 1977. She went on to attend Indiana State University, earning her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education in 1981.

Chris began her professional career in the insurance industry in 1981. In 2000, she fulfilled her lifelong dream of becoming a teacher. She spent her entire teaching career at Central Elementary, the same school she attended as a child. Throughout her years at Central, she taught 1st, 3rd, and 4th grades before becoming the art teacher—a role she especially loved because it allowed her to work with every student in the school.

In 1983, Chris married Jeff Dukes, and together they welcomed two children, Katie and Rob. Chris and Jeff later divorced. On September 19, 2012, she married John Lasley in Hilton Head, South Carolina. John brought his children, Sabrina and John, into the family.

Chris is survived by her husband, John; her children, Katie Dukes (Cliff Fraser) of Fishers, Rob Dukes (Paige) of Zionsville, Sabrina Lewis (Auston) of Lebanon, and John “J.D.” Lasley of Lebanon; and her sister, Jodi (Mike) Bimrose of Aiken, South Carolina. She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Jillian, Max, and Cole Fraser, and eagerly awaited future grandchild, Baby Lewis. Additional family members include nieces, Lindsey Bimrose, Megan (Jacob) Rosser, Autumn Barnes, and Aubrie Beasey; great-nephews, Hunter and Rory Rosser; mother-in-law, Karen Lasley (Dave Maue); and sister-in-law, Jennifer (Glenn) Beasey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence “L.D.” and Erma Witmer, as well as her father-in-law, John Lasley II.

Chris enjoyed reading, crafting, creating artwork, gardening, soaking up the sun, spending time near the water, camping, IndyCar racing, traveling, and cheering for the Colts and Bears. Above all, her greatest joy was time spent with her family, whom she loved dearly.

Visitation is planned from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, November 13th, at the funeral home with additional visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow services at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.

The family plans to establish a scholarship in Chris’s honor in the near future.
