WILO’s 12 Strays of Christmas: Meet Damien, a Handsome Shepherd Mix Hoping for a Home

This holiday season, WILO and the Humane Society of Clinton County are continuing to spread festive cheer with their 12 Strays of Christmas campaign. Each day features an adoptable pet looking for a forever home, giving the community an opportunity to make an animal’s holiday wish come true.

Today’s featured pet is Damien, a striking black German Shepherd mix with a truly unique look—one ear stands tall while the other flops gently to the side. Damien arrived at the shelter as a stray on September 15, 2025, severely underweight at just 59 pounds. With care, good food, and plenty of attention, he has blossomed into a healthy, strong 70-pound dog.

At 4½ years old, Damien is energetic, smart, friendly, and always ready for fun in the outdoor play yard. He loves treats, enjoys learning, and never turns down a chance to pose for the camera—this boy is always ready for his close-up.

Damien would likely thrive best as the only four-legged pet in his new home, where he can soak up all the love and attention he deserves.

Adopting during the 12 Strays of Christmas is a meaningful way to bring holiday cheer into your home while giving a deserving animal a fresh start. As part of the campaign, Damien’s adoption fee is fully sponsored.

The Humane Society of Clinton County is showcasing 46 cats and dogs from December 1–12, all with sponsored adoption fees—making now the perfect time to welcome a furry friend for the holidays.

If Damien has captured your heart, email cchs04@sbcglobal.net to learn more or schedule a meet-and-greet in Frankfort, IN.

WILO’s 12 Strays of Christmas is proudly sponsored by Day & Genda Funeral Home and T.C. Trailers. Tune in each morning to meet the Stray of the Day and help spread holiday hope—one pet at a time.
