Carroll County Chamber of Commerce Receives USDA Grant to Support Local Small Businesses

The Carroll County Chamber of Commerce announced that it has been awarded a USDA grant to support small businesses in the county, marking the third time the organization has received this funding.

Madison Kaufman, Director of the Chamber, shared details of the grant, which totals $99,000. Of that amount, $87,000 will go toward a revolving loan program to assist small businesses, while approximately $12,000 will fund technical assistance and business planning programs.

The grant program is designed to help Carroll County small businesses with 50 or fewer employees and annual revenues under $1 million. To qualify, businesses must have been operating in the community for at least two years and complete a five-week training course prior to applying for funding. Once applications are submitted, a loan committee reviews them before loans or assistance are awarded.

“This grant provides critical resources to help local businesses grow, plan for the future, and strengthen our community economy,” Kaufman said.

The Chamber encourages local business owners who meet the eligibility requirements to take advantage of the program and participate in the training course to receive support through both the loan and technical assistance programs.
