James William Van Dusen

James William “Jim” Van Dusen, 82, passed away on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born on March 5, 1943, in Benton Harbor, Michigan; a son of the late William S. and Evelyn (Bray) Bellows

He was married to Nona Fay (Tinsley) Van Dusen, and she preceded him in death on June 23, 2013.

Jim graduated from Dowagiac Central High School in Michigan and received his business administration degree from Ferris University. He proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1963 to 1969 during the Vietnam War. He attained the rank of Sergeant (E-5) and worked in aircraft fire control. Upon his return, he worked at various jobs including Heath Company in St. Joe, Michigan, Cass County Sheriff’s Department, General Cable Industry, and CTS Microelectronics in Lafayette.

He was a member of Dover Christian Church and enjoyed riding his motorcycle, bird watching, fishing and was an avid hunter. Most of all, Jim enjoyed spending time with his family.

Survivors include his two children, Deborah (Eric) Reagan of California and Jim (Tricia) Van Dusen, II of Thorntown; grandson, Brandon (Lupita) Van Dusen; great grandchildren, Bentley Van Dusen and Isabella Van Dusen; and his sister, Gail Van Dusen.

In addition to his parents and wife, Jim was preceded in death by his half siblings, Janet Van Dusen and Jack Van Dusen.

Burial of Ashes will be held at Lawrence Memorial Cemetery in Hoxie, Arkansas at a later date. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation.
