Information Provided by ISP

The Indiana State Police Lafayette District conducted multiple targeted enforcement patrols throughout the district over the weekend focusing on aggressive driving, impaired driving, and other traffic safety violations. Troopers concentrated their efforts on several high traffic corridors in Tippecanoe, Warren, White, Fountain, and Clinton counties.

During these patrols, troopers conducted enforcement operations on Interstate 65, Interstate 74, U.S. 231, and State Road 63. As a result of these combined patrols, troopers issued a total of 32 traffic tickets and 95 warnings.

Troopers also made two arrests for Operating While Intoxicated during the enforcement efforts. In addition, one driver was cited for operating with a suspended driver’s license, and one child restraint violation was documented.

These proactive patrols are conducted to increase visibility and reduce dangerous driving behaviors on roadways throughout the Lafayette District. Speeding, impaired driving, and failure to properly restrain children remain leading contributors to serious injury and fatal crashes.

The Indiana State Police reminds motorists to always obey posted speed limits, never drive while impaired, and ensure that all occupants are properly restrained before traveling.

The Indiana State Police will continue to conduct periodic enforcement patrols throughout the district in an effort to keep roadways safe for everyone.
