Robert A. Giles, Jr., 65, of Colfax, passed away March 20, 2026 at IU Health Arnett Hospital in Lafayette.  He was born on August 26, 1960 in Kokomo to Robert Alan Giles and Doretta Mae (Richards) Pickett.  He married Joyce Carol Hall On October 10, 1987 and she survives.

Robert grew up in Greentown, graduating from Eastern High School in Greentown.  He moved to Clinton County in 1987 when he became the town marshal of Colfax.  In 1990, he began working for Eli Lilly in Indianapolis where he was a Quality Control Engineer, working on medical devices.  He worked there for 27 years, retiring in December of 2017.  The biggest love of Bob’s life was his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.  In 2006, he followed the call to begin the Colfax Tabernacle Fellowship where he pastored for 19 years, leading many in their faith.

Bob loved his family and his animals.  He was a huge animal lover, especially his pets.  His interests varied widely.  He enjoyed music, writing and singing songs along with Joyce and playing several different instruments, including guitar, mandolin, and harmonica.  He also enjoyed building things and collecting knives, guns, coins, and sports cards.  Robert was a sports fanatic who loved all sports and proudly earned his black belt in karate.

Surviving along with his wife: Joyce are his children: Rachel Dawn Kerns of Brazil, IN, Robert A. (Brianna) Giles III of Michigantown, and Tiffany Grace (Dustin) Wrightsman of Colfax, grandchildren: Ashton, Davin, Kairon, Parker, Sutton, and Amara, his dad: James Pickett Sr. of Zionsville, along with his siblings: Teresa (Mike) Nixon of Russiaville, James (Michelle) Pickett Jr. of Zionsville, Michael (Kelly) Giles of Kokomo, and Debbie Begley of Kokomo.

He was preceded in death by his parents and his step-mother: Mary Giles.
