A Mulberry woman has been arrested and is facing an animal cruelty charge following an investigation that led authorities to discover multiple deceased dogs inside a Jefferson Road residence.
According to the Mulberry Police Department, officers began investigating allegations of animal neglect on August 1. The town marshal and animal control officers later executed a search warrant at the home as part of the investigation.
During the search, authorities reported finding several dead Great Danes inside the residence. Court documents state investigators observed severe conditions inside the home, including a large amount of animal waste, heavy clutter, a strong odor, and animal crates located throughout multiple rooms.
Investigators reported finding a total of 10 deceased Great Danes inside the home. Court documents indicate the dogs appeared severely underweight, and some had been affected by mice.
The investigation reportedly began after concerns were raised about the condition of the property. Court documents state that reports dating back to 2025 mentioned a strong odor coming from the residence, with some individuals describing the smell as similar to “death.”
A person who entered the property on July 31 for a work-related matter reportedly contacted authorities after discovering what appeared to be numerous deceased dogs inside the home.
During the investigation, police spoke with Robin Chestine White, 55, of Mulberry. According to court documents, White told investigators she had been traveling between Indiana and Texas and said the dogs became ill while she was away.
White reportedly told police that several dogs died between late May and early June of 2026. She also stated the dogs had not received veterinary care in approximately four years because she could not afford treatment.
The deceased animals were removed from the residence and taken to the Clinton County Humane Society for further examination.
White was arrested and booked into the Clinton County Jail on a preliminary charge of cruelty to animals. The investigation has been forwarded to the Clinton County Prosecutor’s Office for review and final charging decisions.
The Clinton County Humane Society and Clinton County Sheriff’s Office assisted the Mulberry Police Department with the investigation.
White appeared in Clinton Superior Court for an initial hearing, where she entered a plea of not guilty. A bench trial has been scheduled for December 15.
