Melvin Arnold, 89, passed away at his home in Lebanon, Indiana on Monday, August 10, 2026. He was born on June 19, 1937, in Thorntown, a son of the late Walter and Ersa E. (Ford) Arnold.
On November 1, 1968, he married Peggy Sue (Jolly) in Lebanon; she survives.
Melvin was a self-employed carpenter. He was a member of the National Camper and Hiker Association and Moose Lodge of Lebanon.
He is survived by wife, Peggy Arnold; children, David Arnold, Angela D’Angelo and Lisa (Brad) Woodard; six grandchildren; seven great grandchildren; four step great grandchildren; and his brother, James Arnold.
In addition to his parents, Melvin was preceded in death by on grandchild; son-in-law, Larry D’Angelo; and two brothers, Eugene and Bob Arnold.
A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 12:00 noon to 5:00 p.m. at the Arnold family home, 5955 N. Howard Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation.
