FRANKFORT, Ind. — Frankfort City Council members will hold a series of public listening sessions Sept. 23 through Sept. 25 at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, giving residents the chance to speak face-to-face with council members about the proposed data center development.
The sessions follow DataOne’s open house information events held Monday, September 21, and Tuesday, September 22. Council members will be available to discuss what residents learned at those events and to answer any additional questions.
Because the process for approving new developments in the city may not be widely known, the sessions will also give councilors a chance to explain their roles and responsibilities in that process. Council members will walk through how property taxes on both residences and commercial developments are assessed, collected and used to fund the city budget.
“In light of the concerns the public has voiced about the proposed data center development, we want to provide face-to-face opportunities to hear your thoughts and share what we’ve learned,” said Councilman Steve Beardsley. “We want your voices to be heard and look forward to some fruitful conversations.”
Listening session schedule
All sessions will be held at the Clinton County Chamber of Commerce, 62 N. Main St., Frankfort.
- Wednesday, Sept. 23: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m.
- Thursday, Sept. 24: 9 to 11:30 a.m., 3 to 5 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m.
- Friday, Sept. 25: 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. and 5 to 8 p.m.
