The Lebanon City Council unanimously approved a 10-year agreement with Eli Lilly and Company to expand hazardous materials (HazMat) and emergency response capabilities, according to Matt Gentry.
The agreement will provide $19.3 million to the city over the next 10 years to strengthen emergency services in Lebanon and surrounding communities.
Funding will support the addition of 12 firefighters, specialized training, a new hazmat response fire engine and other critical emergency response equipment.
Gentry described the agreement as a landmark public safety partnership that will help ensure Lebanon’s emergency response infrastructure keeps pace with the community’s needs.
The agreement brings together local government and Lilly to expand emergency response resources and strengthen public safety throughout the area.
