The snow has finally made its way to Clinton County. It started in Frankfort shortly after 11 am Wednesday morning. Clinton County is under a travel advisory as of this hour. As a result, roads are starting to get slick and we are expecting 12-18 inches of snow before it’s all over.
A travel advisory means that routine travel or activities may be restricted in areas because of a hazardous situation, and you should use caution or avoid those areas. EMA Director Darrell Sanders say it probably will be moved to a warning later today.
Stay home if you can. That’s the plea from police and road crews across Indiana today. Forecasters say there will be near-blizzard conditions in some places because of the winter storm that is moving across the state. Many people are preparing to stay home. Grocery stores across the state sold-out of the basics as people rushed to the store to get what they needed just in case they can’t get out.
City officials are asking you to not throw their snow into the streets. Whether shoveling, snow blowing or personal plow trucks. They need to keep the streets cleared as much as possible and this only makes it more difficult.
