Mary Minier and Renea Smith have been selected to lead Indiana University Health Frankfort Hospital, effective immediately
Minier will serve as Chief Operating Officer – Critical Access Hospitals, Regional Support Services for the west central region of Indiana University Health, which includes Arnett, Frankfort and White Memorial hospitals. Smith will serve as Chief Nursing Officer – Critical Access Hospitals for the
region. Together, they will lead Frankfort and White Memorial hospitals.
In early 2023, Minier and Smith took on these roles on an interim basis. In the months since, this dual leadership structure has already yielded new opportunities for consistency and sharing best practices among the Frankfort and White Memorial teams.
Minier began her career with IU Health White Memorial Hospital in Monticello the early 1980s, advancing through several managerial roles, including vice president of Revenue, corporate compliance officer and chief operating officer. In addition, she played a key role in the transition of
the county hospital to IU Health White Memorial Hospital in 2011.
Minier is a lifelong resident of the Monticello community and a graduate of Indiana Wesleyan University, where she earned a master’s degree in healthcare management. In addition, she serves on several professional boards, including North Central Nursing Clinic, White County Economic
Development and Valley Oaks Health.

Smith, MSN, RN, NE-BC, has more than 20 years of healthcare experience, including cardiothoracic and vascular surgery, cardiology/radiology, clinical education and nursing practice. She holds a Master of Science in Nursing. In addition, she serves on the Mental Health America-Wabash Valley Region board, a position that allows her to support and advocate for mental health awareness and resources in local communities.
“Over the past several months, I have had the opportunity to get to know the Frankfort community and the role our team plays in Clinton County, and I am thrilled to step into this position on a permanent basis alongside Mary,” says Smith. “It’s a privilege to care for this community.”
