Tom Springer, beloved son of Mark and Barbara Springer, passed away Thursday, July 13, 2023 after a prolonged fight with kidney and heart disease at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Indianapolis. He was 29 years old. He was born in that same hospital on November 16,1993.
Thomas grew up in Avon, Indiana, moving to Lebanon in 2004. He began playing trombone in middle school and was very active in the LHS band program. He graduated from Lebanon High School in 2012, and was admitted to Indiana University in Indianapolis. While in college, Tom was awarded membership in Alpha Lambda Delta, the academic honorary fraternity. He graduated in 2017 with a degree in Media Arts and Sciences. Thomas’ senior project was a study in 3-D printing and the models he created are still available and widely viewed online.
Thomas worked for several years as an insurance processor with Allied Solutions in Carmel. In recent months he developed a passionate interest in automotive detailing. He was able to perform a few professional detail jobs for family and friends before his poor health made it impossible for him to continue.
He was a lifelong avid gamer, playing at home and online. He competed in, and won, several video game tournaments. He was an active member of online communities devoted to gaming.
He is survived by his father and mother, several cousins, aunts, and uncles. He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Bob and Joyce Ervin and Vern and Jean Springer, and by his brother, Joey Gaylor.
A gathering of friends and loved ones to say goodbye and to share memories will be held at Myers Mortuary on Tuesday, July 25 from 4-6 p.m.
