Nancy L. Milburn, 75, passed away Tuesday, August 29, 2023, at home in Kokomo, Indiana. She was born on November 20, 1947, in Boone County, Indiana, a daughter of the late Cecil Oswald Venis and Illo Pearl (Robison) Venis.
On July 25, 1966, she was united in marriage to Keith “Gene” Milburn in Michigantown, Indiana; he survives.
During Nancy’s high school years, she worked at the Lebanon Public Library. She was a 1966 graduate of Lebanon High School. After retiring from Delco Electronics, she worked as a dedicated teacher’s aide for Taylor Middle School in Center, Indiana for many years. She had a servant’s heart and was always willing to work in any class, treating each student with love and care. There she was known as the person that always spent the extra time and energy investing in the lives of young people. Many credit Nancy for enriching their lives and inspiring them to work hard, taking pride in their educational journey.
Her greatest achievement was that of being a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. With her husband, Gene, she raised three sons and loved her many grandchildren. She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, cross stitch, camping and working crossword puzzles. She admired sunflowers.
Survivors include her husband, Keith “Gene” Milburn of Kokomo; three sons, Brian (Kim) Milburn of Fishers, Greg (Jennifer) Milburn of Thorntown, and Eric (Rachel) Milburn of Frankfort; twelve grandchildren; brother, Wally (Karla) Venis of Lebanon; sister, Joyce Bougher of Darlington; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by brothers, Keith Venis, Larry Venis, and Danny Venis; and sisters, Donna Peters, Faith Dodson, and Linda Summers.
Memorial Services are planned for 4:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 7, 2023 at the Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Boone County Crematory has been entrusted with her cremation arrangements.
Memorials may be directed in her memory to the charity of the donor’s choice.
