Michael Stephen Hilt, 79, passed away on Friday, October 6, 2023, at home in Lebanon, Indiana, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on May 21, 1944, in Indianapolis, a son of Donald E. Hilt and Betty (Rayl) Hilt.
On July 31, 1964, he was united in marriage to Pamela S. (Johnston) Hilt at the Mt. Olive Methodist Church in Indianapolis; she survives.
Raised in Indianapolis, Mike was a 1962 graduate of Ben Davis High School. He was employed as a service technician with AT&T at the FFA Center at the time of his retirement. He retired at the age of 53 after 35 years of service.
Mike was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather. He loved his family deeply and was extremely proud of his grandchildren. In addition to his family, Mike found joy in golfing, fishing, and reading. He currently held membership with the Central Christian Church in Lebanon.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 59 years, Pam Hilt; children, David (Julie) Hilt of Indianapolis and Dana (Allan) Tilford of Lebanon; six grandchildren, David (Brittney) Hilt, Tyler Hilt, Hannah Hilt, Valerie Hilt, Caroline Tilford, and Alexandra Tilford; and three great grandchildren, Cooper, Jackson, and Mason Hilt.
In addition to his father and mother, Mike was preceded in death by his stepmother who helped raise him, Carol (Thompson) Hilt, and his son, Kristopher Hilt.
Memorial Services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, October 21, 2023, at Central Christian Church, 311 East Main Street, in Lebanon, with Rev. Nathan Kibler, officiating. The family will gather with friends from 2:00 p.m. until the time of services. Myers Mortuary has been entrusted with his arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in his memory to Boone County Cancer Society, Central Christian Church, or Suburban Hospice.
