Exciting night of basketball Saturday night at Clinton Prairie for the Gophers as they defeat Seeger 59-40.
Jake McGraw would lead the way for the Gophers with 29 points. The entire team played very good basketball.
Scoring for Clinton Prairie was Jake McGraw 29, Jaycob Wilson 11, Alex Dean 6, Cayden Davis 5, Levi Ostler 4, Jake Swinford 2, Ryan Harshbarger and layne Horlacher each added a bucket. Besides the scoring each player on the team had a hand in getting the ball down the court and good rebounding by all was also a key factor in the outcome of the game.
The Gophers Junior Varsity also had an exciting close finish as they sent Seeger home with a loss by the score of 35-34.
Nick Ewing led the Gophers with 10 points, followed by Jake Swinford 8, Evan Smock 7, Gaige Kuzmiz and Chase Fleischhauer each added 4, and Alex King added a bucket.
The Gophers are coached Chad Peckinpaugh, and Junior Varsity coached by Dirk Shaw. Assistant coaches are Russ Doyle and Bailey Good Both Varsity and Junior Varsity move to 3-0 for the season.
