Marcia Jean (Byroad) Hale, 80, formerly of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 26, 2023, at The Waters of Middletown. She was born in Boone County on March 21, 1943, a daughter of the late Forest R. and Lelia C. (Wilkerson) Byroad.
She was first married to Raymond Stone in Indianapolis, and they divorced; he preceded her in death. She married Jimmy Hale in 1981; he survives.
Marcia attended schools in Lebanon and Indianapolis. She worked in the finance center for Fort Harrison as an account receivable clerk for several years. Marcia loved to travel and crochet in her spare time. She was an avid reader; Danielle Steel authored her favorite books. Marcia was a dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy Hale; five sons, Forest (Jenny) Stone of Danville, Raymond (Niki) Stone of New Palestine, Terry (Cheryl) Stone of Indianapolis, Daniel (Denise) Stone of Anderson, and Jeffrey (Ashley) Stone of Las Vegas; thirteen grandchildren; and eleven great grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, Marcia was preceded in death by three sisters, Helen Chaney, Barbara Berry, and Beatrice Montgomery.
Funeral Services are planned for 2:00 p.m. on Friday, January 5, 2024, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 12:00 until the time of services. Interment will follow at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
