According to the Sheriff’s Office, the subject is calling community members and stating that they are Lieutenant Craig Fouts with the Boone County Sheriff’s Office, and the caller proceeds to state that they have legal documents that need immediate attention from the caller.
The Sheriff’s Office stated that callers need to avoid providing any personal or confidential information over the phone, especially in cases where the call might be a scammer.
