Betty Lee Gearheart, 96, of Frankfort, died August 1, 2024 at Milner’s Health Care, Rossville, Ind. She was born October 6, 1927 in Roselawn, Indiana to William E. & Eva (LaCosse) Clinton. She married James E. Gearheart on January 12, 1951 and he preceded her in death on February 25, 1987.
Betty was a 1945 graduat
e of Mt. Ayr High School in Mt. Ayr, Indiana. She worked for Mallory Control/Emerson as a quality control inspector for 30 years, retiring in June of 1992. Betty was a member of the First Baptist Church and was active in the 70+2 class. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, was previously on the board of the Clinton County Humane Society and was an avid quilter.
She is survived by her daughter: Linda (Gordon) Gilmore of Frankfort, 2 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and spouse, she was preceded in death by a son, Russell Gearheart, grandson, Grant Gilmore, 2 sisters and 4 brothers.
Funeral Services:
Visitation will be 1-2 p.m. Friday, August 9, 2024 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Funeral services will begin on 2 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Park. Memorial donations may be made to the First Baptist Church or the Clinton County Humane Society.
