The 15th Annual Grandma’s Cook-Off sponsored by Day & Genda Funeral Home is on the horizon for community members to flex their cooking and baking skills as they vie for the top prize.
This year’s Grandma’s Cook-Off will heat up on Saturday, Sept. 21 with judging beginning at 2 p.m. at 608 N. Main St. in Frankfort. The competition is free to enter, and the deadline to sign up is set for Sept. 19.
Participants may select to prepare a dish from five categories, including main dish, side dish/salad, soup, appetizer and dessert for a chance to receive $300 if their dish is chosen as the category winner.
One entry will be permitted per person, and the chef that prepared the dish must be present at the event to win. Participants are instructed to cook their grandma’s favorite recipe and bring the recipe and completed dish to the event fully prepared. Winners will be announced during the day of the event, and the judge’s decision is final.
