The Clinton County Fairgrounds and Rental team announced updated information for the upcoming 2024 Clinton County Fairgrounds Winter Storage Program.
Items may be placed in storage on Saturday, Nov. 2 from 8 a.m. to 10:30 p.m. at the fairgrounds. Vehicles should enter off Alhambra Avenue on the east side of the fairgrounds, turn right and then proceed to the northwest side of the fairgrounds around to the Edward Jones Community Building.
The removal date has been set for Saturday, April 5, 2025 at 8 a.m. All equipment must be removed at promptly 8 a.m. or a late fee of $100 will be charged for all the equipment received outside of the announced removal date and time.
Equipment will be measured with $15 charged per foot in storage, and only cash or check are accepted.
Storage Requirements:
In preparation for storage, all storage tanks, such as water and sewage tanks must be emptied. International Fire Code states that liquid or gas fueled vehicles, boats or other motor craft should not be located indoors except as follows:
- Batteries are disconnected
- Fuel in fuel tanks does not exceed one-quarter tank, or 5 gallons, whichever is least
- Fuel tanks and fill openings are closed and sealed to prevent tampering
- Vehicles, boats or other motor craft equipment are not fueled or defueled within the building
The team released a security and liability statement as well.
The lessee understands there will (be) no provided security for the storage unit, and all property stored will be under the sole liability of the lessee. The lessor will not be responsible for any loss or damages that may incur from storage of property.
Once vehicles reach the Edward Jones Building on Nov. 2, measurements of the vehicle being stored will be taken and $15 will be charged per foot. The measurement document must be taken into Clinton Hall where the lessee will submit the lease agreement and pay the registration fee. For security reasons, pictures will be taken of the equipment, and the lessee will be directed to the appropriate storage site.
