Last week, Sheridan Police Department’s new reserve officers completed their initial training as they prepare to better serve the community of Sheridan.
The initial training consisted of classroom instruction, physical tactics, firearms and evasive driving training. Hamilton County Sheriff’s Department Deputy Lydia Fairchok acted as a guest instructor for key topics related to communications and report writing.
“This additional knowledge is key for our recruits to have a strong start in their careers in Sheridan,” the department released. “We are proud to represent the outstanding individuals that take the time to serve the Sheridan community with their time in our reserve division.”
The new resource officers are set to swear in and begin field training by the start of November.
