Aldi Set To Open New Location In Whitestown Tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 12; First 100 Shoppers Receive Special Prizes

The Town of Whitestown is expected to see the opening of a new Aldi grocery chain in the town next week, marking the first store in the Whitestown area for the chain, the company announced on Tuesday, Dec. 3.

The Germany-based grocer is expected to open its new supermarket in the area tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 12 at 6479 Center Drive just south of Whitestown Parkway between Interstate 65 and County Road 650 East in Whitestown. The opening of the store will be the second Aldi store in the Boone County area, with the first store being located in Lebanon.

Aldi currently operated 84 stores in Indiana, including the store in Lebanon, four stores in Hamilton County with two in Carmel and single stores in Fishers and Noblesville and a store in the Frankfort area. Greenwood Vice president for Aldi Laura Bauer released a statement regarding the new location.

“Our stores are designed to make grocery shopping smarter, faster and easier, Bauer said. “We’re excited to open our first Aldi store in Whitestown and introduce local customers to a new, more affordable way of shopping.”

The new store will be open daily from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. for community members to utilize. An opening ceremony has been set for the community to attend at 8:30 a.m. tomorrow, Thursday, Dec. 12. The first 100 customers that attend the opening ceremony will receive a gift bag filled with products and a gift card. During the weekend following the grand opening, from Dec. 12 through Dec. 15, shoppers will be allowed to enter a sweepstakes to win a $500 Aldi gift card.
