Richard A. “Butch” McCoy, 76, of Frankfort, passed away July 6, 2026 in his home.  He was born on October 12, 1949 in Howard County to Ernest and Helen (Cunningham) McCoy.  He married Gayla Louks on July 1, 1972 and she survives.

Butch was a 1969 graduate of Clinton Central High School and served in the United States Army National Guard.  He was a lifelong farmer, had worked for Keystone Co-Alliance, and retired as Assistant Fire Chief after 20 years of service to the Michigantown Fire Station.  He loved spending time with his grandchildren and being outdoors – raising pigs, fishing, and camping.  He also enjoyed watching westerns, especially Gunsmoke.

Surviving along with his wife, Gayla, are his sons: Robert (Brandi) McCoy and Jeremy McCoy, grandchildren: Lane (Haleigh) McCoy, Austin McCoy, Kynsey McCoy, and Kaden McCoy, along with six great-grandchildren: Corbin, Liam, Beau and Luke McCoy and Ross and Brax Milner.

He was preceded in death by his parents and a great-grandson Colt McCoy.

Carol Catherine Cipollo, 61, of Frankfort, Indiana, passed away July 4, 2026 at Franciscan Health Hospital East in Lafayette, Indiana.  She was born on December 24, 1964 in Media, Pennsylvania to Felix and Grace (Napoline) Cipollo.

Carol graduated from West Chester High School in Pennsylvania. She worked with her father in his die cutting business, acquiring and operating it after his passing.  She loved ceramics and online gaming.

Surviving are her siblings: Lisa (Brendan) McGillicuddy of Oregon, Samuel (Pat) Cipollo of Pennsylvania, Debra LaBelle of Pennsylvania, and Joyce Pristash-Langdale of Maryland, along with nephews: Jonathan Pristash and Anthony Cipollo, and nieces: Tina Cipollo and Lauren Cipollo.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter: Lindsay Marie Cipollo Rogers.

Stephen Swafford, 78, of Frankfort passed away June 28, 2026 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, IN.   He was born September 6, 1947 to Johnny Swafford and Sue Jane (Stephenson) Swafford in Frankfort, IN, and became the loving son of Marcus V. Hodges, Jr. in 1954.

Stephen enlisted in the Marine Corp and served multiple tours in Vietnam.  Stephen owned the Korner Pocket pool hall and retired from his business in 2016.  He enjoyed playing guitar and listening to music.  He also enjoyed watching sports and reading his Bible as well as playing pool and cards.  Stephen was full of banter and always had a fun time.  He was known by his friends as a colorful and witty person.  He loved his Harley Davidson motorcycles as well as “Dakota”, his beloved dog.

Surviving are his brother:  Marcus (Judy) Hodges of Frankfort, a niece:  Julia (Kurtis) Foster of Kirklin, and a cousin:  Dave (Linda) Skinner of Frankfort.

He was preceded in death by his parents, as well as a cousin:  Sarah Judd, and aunts: Marj Maxson and Kathy Goode.

Friends may visit Thursday, July 2 from 3-5 p.m. with a funeral service immediately following at 5 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Michele Elaine Showkeir, 67, of Frankfort passed away on June 26,2026 at Wesley Manor in Frankfort, Indiana.  She was born to Eugene Clyde and Phyllis Jean (Hall) Brouillette in Lafayette, Indiana.  She married Craig Showkeir.

Michele graduated in 1977 from Dana Hills High School and received her RN certification at Saddleback Community College.  She went on to be an oncology nurse in California for 34 years.  Michele attended St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Frankfort.

Surviving are her daughters: Kristina (Bryan) Heldt and Breanna (Chris) Haws, both of Wisconsin, two sisters:  Marie Brouillette and Suzanne (Roland) Rodman, both of Lafayette, a brother:  Maurice (Jawan) Brouilette of Texas, 6 grandchildren, along with 3 nieces and 3 nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband: Craig, and her parents.

Kenneth L. Parker, 96, formerly of Forest, IN, passed away on June 24, 2026 at IU Health in Frankfort.  He was born February 25, 1930 to Russell and Elsie (Abbott) Parker in Forest.  Kenneth married Patricia A. Terrell on September 27, 1952 in Forest.

Kenneth was a graduate of the Forest High School class of 1948.  He served in the United States Army, reaching the rank of Corporal, and was discharged in February of 1953.  Kenneth spent 34 years working in Kokomo at Haynes Stellite International.  He was a member of the Forest Baptist Church where he also served as a deacon for more than fifty years.  Kenneth was a member of the Masonic Lodge #82 in Russiaville and also enjoyed carpentry work.  When he was younger he liked to roller skate, go camping, and participate in square dancing with the Kokomo Swinging Squares.

Surviving are his wife of 73 years:  Patricia, his son:  Jeff (Annette) Parker of Kokomo, his daughter:  Penny (Ed) Clendenning of Frankfort, as well as five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, daughter: Debbie Whiteman, brothers:  Dick, Jack, and Joe Parker, and half-brother: Bob Parker.

Friends may visit Thursday, July 2nd from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 200 S. Main St., Frankfort. Renata “Rae” Harris, 84, of Chesterton, IN, formerly of Frankfort, passed away on June 25, 2026 at home.  She was born November 7, 1941 to Fredrick and Lucille (Tragnitz) Rinkenberger in Chicago Heights, Illinois.  On June 23, 1963 she married Stephen Lynn Harris in Dyer, Indiana.

Rae was a 1958 graduate of Bloom Township Schools and went on to earn her BA in Language from Indiana University in 1962.  She then went on to earn her Masters from Purdue University.  She was a teacher of English, Spanish, and Latin in schools in Gary and Western High School in Howard County. She also taught for IU Kokomo as well.  Rae was a member of St. Matthew United Methodist Church in Frankfort.  She was the National President of Psi Iota Xi from 1996-1997, was involved in the Kappa Chapter in Kokomo from 1967-1979, and was a current part of the Beta Tau chapter since 1979.  Rae enjoyed sewing, reading, and cooking.

Surviving are her husband: Steve of Chesterson, her sons: Charles F. “Chuck” (Michelle) Harris of Valparaiso, IN and John Paul “JP” Harris of Frankfort, IN,  a sister:  Ethel Mae DeYoung of Renton, WA, and three granddaughters:  Christine and Ella Harris and Lexie Coberg.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother:  Earl F. Rinkenberger.

Friends may visit Saturday,  July 11 from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at St. Matthew United Methodist Church, 1951 Wilshire Dr., Frankfort.  A memorial service with Psi Iota Xi honors will begin at 1:30 p.m. at the church.  Rev. Karen K. Bowman, 84, of Kirklin, passed away June 24, 2026 in her home.  She was born May 21, 1942 to Robert and Wilma (Ferrell) Calloway in Frankfort, Indiana.  She married Dale L. Bowman on June 17, 1960 in Kirklin.

Karen was a graduate of the first Clinton Central High School graduating class of 1960.  She drove a school bus for the Clinton Central School Corporation for 16 years.  In addition to being a homemaker and a lifelong farmer alongside Dale, Karen also worked at both Schultz IGA as well as The Farmers Bank.  She worked in her earlier years at Hanson’s Grocery in Kirklin.  Karen was a member of the Scotland Christian Church for several years where she played the piano, organ, and sang in the church choir.

Surviving are her husband: Dale Bowman, her sons:  Timothy L. (Nathan Williams) Bowman of Riverview, Florida, Terry (Angela) Bowman of Frankfort, and Tony L. (Kim) Bowman of Frankfort, and a daughter:  Tammy (Matt) Campbell of Kirklin, as well as a sister: Diana (Danny) Scircle of Frost Proof, Florida, 10 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, one brother, and a grandson.

Linda Montalvo, 77, of Frankfort passed away June 22, 2026 at home.  She was born January 22, 1949 to Charles and Kathleen (Culley) Sharp in Frankfort, IN.  She married Geronimo “Tino” Montalvo on December 23, 1966 in Frankfort.

Linda attended the Community Schools of Frankfort.  She worked as a housekeeper at Wesley Manor for twenty years.  She was a lifelong resident of the Frankfort community and was a member of the Frankfort Eagles.  Linda enjoyed camping and traveling as well as playing cards, Yahtzee, and spending time with her family and friends.

Surviving are her sons:  Jerry (Lori) Montalvo and John (Alisha King) Montalvo, both of Frankfort, as well as 7 grand children, 5 great grand children and sisters:  Pam Castillo and Sue Winnett, both of Frankfort.

Melissa Henderson, 60, of Frankfort, passed away June 20, 2026 at Franciscan Health in Lafayette, Indiana.  She was born November 4, 1965 to Richard and Leah (Chandler) Henderson in Frankfort, Indiana.

Melissa was a graduate of Frankfort High School in 1984.  She went on to receive her associates degree in nursing at Ivy Tech and was previously an RN at Clinton County Hospital.  Melissa was a fun-loving, extroverted person who loved people.  She was a wonderful helping hand to others and had a knack for assisting with their health and healing.

Surviving are her mother: Leah Henderson of Frankfort, her brother:  Craig Henderson of Lebanon , a son:  Clay (Izzy) McKinzie, a daughter: Alizabeth “Ali” (Cory) Jakes of Frankfort, and grandchildren:  Poppy Jakes and Murray McKinzie, along with several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her father.

Davis, 76, of Frankfort, passed away June 22, 2026 at IU Arnett Hospital in Lafayette, Indiana.  She was born June 21, 1950 to Milton Augustus and Eva Alice (Hill) Barker.  She married James Russell (Russ) Kinslow in February 1970 and he preceded her in death in December 1972.  She married James (JD) Davis in 1973 and he preceded her in death in December 2018.

June was a member of the Frankfort High School class of 1968.  She was employed in the food service industry working for McDonalds for eighteen years.  She also enjoyed cake decorating, crafts, and walking in nature and mostly being with family and friends.

Surviving are her daughter: Vicki Kinslow (David) Gerber of Frankfort, her son: Bryan Kinslow of Frankfort, her granddaughter: Kylee Clark (Brett) Lowry of Culver, a brother: Milton “Ed” Barker of Frankfort, a niece: Nancy Sheets of Frankfort, her step-grandson:  Stephen D. Gerber, and two great grandchildren:  Magnus Wrayborn Lowry and Maybel Josephene Lowry, several other nieces and nephews who held a very special place in her heart, and numerous cousins, including several who were not only family but lifelong friends and sisters, as well as her beloved pets:  Buddy and Taz.    She was preceded in death by her spouses, parents, sisters: Eva “Peach” Cox, Bertha Sanders, Linda Nipper, and Juanita Wilson, and great-grandson: Hudson Eugene Lowry.

A celebration of life will take place at the Frankfort Eagles Lodge #976, 408 N.
