Carl Wayne Vandevender, 85, of rural Frankfort, passed away May 6, 2026 at Mulberry Health.  He was born on February 25, 1941 in Frankfort, IN to WK Vandevender and Eileen (Shore) Vandevender.  Eileen died when Carl was young and WK married Cleo Myers, who adopted and raised Carl.  Carl was previously married to Carolyn Hendrickson Abbott and they later divorced.

Carl Vandevender

Carl was a 1959 graduate and the last class to graduate from Kirklin High School.  He was active in 4-H, and FFA at a young age and was active in Young Farmers in Kirklin. Carl was born into farming and remained a farmer in Clinton County until he retired. He could always be found in the shed working on something, which lead to his love for restoring and showing antique farm equipment.

He was a member of the Chapter #7 Indiana International Harvester Collectors Club. He was also a longtime member of the I & I Antique Tractor and Gas Engine Club Chapter 10. The club was able to purchase the Penfield grounds where Historic Farm Days is held.  Prior to that, Historic Farm Days was held at Middlefork Forest Preserve.  The club bought the school adjacent to the show grounds and kept adding land for the show to the point that it now owns more than 100 acres.  Carl was active in the annual Historic Farms Days in Penfield, holding several offices.  They created a trail extending back into the woods for golf carts and tractors to travel.

He was among the founding members of the Half Century of Progress Show.  This show in Rantoul, IL, is the premier working vintage farm show in the United States.  It is held the weekend before the Decatur Farm Progress Show. The Half Century of Progress allows visitors to experience what farming and agriculture was like 50 years ago and beyond with live demonstrations, attractions and fellowship.  The family went to the 1206 Round Up in 2025.

Carl is survived by his Companion, Jackie Williman of Mulberry, IN, Daughters,  Carla Kaelin of Waveland, IN, Beth Walker of Fort Myers, FL, Son, Todd Vandevender of Ashland, KY, grandchildren,  William Kaelin, Nathan (Hayley) Kaelin, LeAnn (Josh) Predolich, Clayton Walker and Michael Burke, great-grandchildren,  Liberty Owens, Kellan Kaelin, Jackson Kaelin and Autumn Kaelin, cousins, Jerry Shore and Joyce Jordan and extended family.

He was preceded in death by: parents, son-in-law: William Kaelin and cousin, Karen Larimore

Ronald Eugene Coonrod, 78, of rural Michigantown, passed away May 5, 2026 at Witham Memorial Hospital, Lebanon, IN.  He was born August 4, 1947 in Clinton County, IN to Wayne & Frona Olene (Evans) Coonrod.  He married Janice Brown in 1980.

Ronald was a 1965 graduate of Clinton Central High School.  He retired in 1995 from Chrysler.  Ron was a member of the Heart of Fire Church.  He was an avid hunter, enjoyed playing cards and loved his dog, Heidi. Ronald along with his wife owned/operated Country Pride Restaurant and the cement shop next door, Lawn Novelties.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Janice of rural Michigantown, daughters, Sonya Brown of Rossville, Krista Stahl of rural Frankfort, son, Chris (Angie) Barnes of Kirklin as well as several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Michael Barnes and a baby brother, Charles.

Mark Padron, 61, of rural Michigantown, IN, passed May 2, 2026 at home, surrounded by his family.  He was born April 8, 1965 in Tampa, FL to Charles Padron and Rosalie “Lilly” (Parrado) Padron.  He married Vicki Myers on September 5, 1987 in Manson, IN and she survives.

Mark was a 1984 graduate of Clinton Prairie High School.  An entrepreneur, he also worked at Mallory’s and was owner of Dave’s Radiator.  He moved to Frankfort from Tampa at age 8.  Mark enjoyed gardening, fishing, hunting, cooking, the outdoors, New Smyrna Beach, FL and living in their Florida home with his wife.  He was especially fond of his grandchildren and family.

Mark is survived by his wife, Vicki, daughter, Kelli (Curtis Patterson) Greeno of Michigantown, son, Shane (Kayla) Greeno of Three Rivers, MI, grandchildren, Baeli (Peyton) Jones of Michigantown, Ethan Greeno of McAllen, TX, C.J. (Madie Cronister) Greeno of Austin, TX, Kyler Snellenbarger of Three Rivers, MI, Kallen Greeno, Three Rivers, MI, brothers, Carl Padron of Indianapolis, David (Macarena) Galvin of Indianapolis, sister, Kathy (Mario) Zamora of Carmel, as well as several nieces, nephews and cousins.

He was known for his kind heart and the warmth he brought to those around him, often expressed through his unmistakable smile & bright smiling eyes.  He had a strong sense of passion in his opinions, and stood firm in what he believed, always with sincerity.

He was preceded in death by his mother, stepfather, Bill Galvin and grandparents, Tony & Annie Parrado.

James was a 1952 graduate of Colfax High School.  He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army.  James was a life long farmer.  He was a member of the Manson Congregational Christian Church.  James loved to read, watch westerns and spend time with his family.

Tim was a 1976 graduate of Clinton Central.  He worked most of his life as an independent carpenter in Indiana and Texas.  Tim was a huge cat lover, loved growing tomatoes, flat beans and hunting mushrooms.  He was also an avid Miami Dolphin and Indiana University basketball fan.

Tim is survived by brother, Andy (Brenda) Robertson, sister, Kathy Lindenmayer, aunts, Christine (Ken) Hunter, Pat Robertson, great uncle, Jim (Mary Lou) Horoho along with numerous nieces and nephews.

Reid was a 1954 graduate of Little Jeff High School.  A lifelong farmer, he also worked for the Clinton County Highway Department for 14 years and was a self-employed auctioneer for 14 years.  He was a member of the United Methodist Church in Jefferson.  Reid was a member of antique tractor clubs and loved to hunt, fish and travel.

Reid is survived by his son, Daniel (Lu) Knapp of Crawfordsville, daughter, Debbie (Tom) Day of Texas, 4 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, wife and a brother, Paul Knapp Jr.

Ethel Suzanne Williams, 82, of Kokomo, passed away April 27, 2026 at her home.  She was born August 6, 1943 in Jeffersonville, Indiana to Ralph & Anna M. (Gaunt) Ward.  She married Ronald Gean Williams on July 25, 1964 in Cyclone, Indiana.  They were happily married until his death on April 7, 2021.

Suzanne was a 1961 graduate of Clinton Central High School.  She was an avid card player, enjoyed her local Euchre Club and often she played several rounds of cards with her family.  Many times, Suzanne played online scrabble and loved to watch trivia shows.  She worked various jobs in clothing, and met her closest lifelong friends James and JoAnn Nelson there.  As an adult, she became a realtor in Indiana, believing highly in furthering her education, she gave that love of learning to her children.  Suzanne and her husband traveled the country for two years, and loved seeing everything this country had to offer.  She was a loving mother, incredible friend and a whole hearted believer in God.  She was a member of the Kempton Methodist Church.

Paula was a 1964 graduate of Hammond High School.  She spent her early years in Hammond and moved to Frankfort in 1972.  She worked for Zachary Confections for 11 years.  Paula is a member of the Christian Life Church, teaching Sunday school for 18 years. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, baking, loved her church and helping wherever she could.

Paula is survived by her siblings, Oscar (Shelly)Ramirez of Crown Point, Jimmy (Judy) Ramirez of Crown Point, IN, Harry Ramirez of Chicago, IL, Ofelia Garcia of Bensenville, IL, Mary (Hubert) Lopez of Hammond, Yolanda Ramirez of Hammond and several nieces and nephews.
