Denise LeAnn “DeeDee” Prather, 70, of Lebanon, Indiana, passed away October 9, 2026, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital in Indianapolis. She was born in Crawfordsville on May 7, 1956, a daughter of the late Delbert W. and Shirley J. (Hicks) McQueen
On July 6, 1992, she married Jory Prather in Gatlinburg, Tennessee; he survives.
She graduated from Crawfordsville High School in 1974 and attended PCI. In April of 2022, DeeDee retired from VASEY in Zionsville as Service Dispatch after 14 years of employment.
She was a member of the Humane Society of Boone County and in her free time, she enjoyed traveling with her husband. DeeDee was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother who cherished her family. Spending time with those she loved brought her the greatest joy, creating memories she held close to her heart.
Survivors include her husband, Jory Prather of Lebanon; children, Ryan Lister (Anthony Masseria) of Indianapolis and Shannon (Billy) Richardson of Hawley, Texas; grandchildren; Michael (Taylor) Prather, Jade Richardson, and Sophia Richardson; great granddaughter, Addison Prather; brother, Steve (Jeanie) Hammel of New Albany, Indiana; nephew, Ryan (Kasey) Hammel; great nephew, Wade; and great niece, Piper.
In addition to her parents, DeeDee was preceded in death by her brother, Dennis McQueen.
No services will be held at this time. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with her cremation.
