Don’t Forget to “Fall Back” for Daylight Saving Time November 1, 2026

As 2026 winds down, it’s time to turn the clocks back one hour as daylight saving time comes to an end. This year, daylight saving time ends on Sunday, November 1, at 2 a.m., giving everyone an extra hour of sleep.

While the time change can take a little adjustment, it is also a good reminder to check other time-sensitive items around the home. Officials recommend using this opportunity to:

  • Replace smoke detector and carbon monoxide detector batteries.
  • Review family emergency preparedness plans.
  • Adjust timers on home appliances and outdoor lighting as needed.
  • Check clocks that do not automatically update.

The return to standard time means earlier sunsets and darker evenings. Drivers should use extra caution during morning and evening commutes, watching for pedestrians, cyclists and changing visibility conditions.

Remember to set clocks back one hour before going to bed Saturday night, October 31.
