Doris Maxine Parker, 94, passed away Wednesday, July 15, 2026, at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born February 13, 1932, in Winamac, Indiana, a daughter of the late Clyde and Edith (Swafford) Harrison.
On November 5, 1951, she married William E. “Bill” Parker, Sr. in Indianapolis. He preceded her in death on August 21, 2009.
Doris and her two sisters sang with Harlin Brothers and Earl Newport Orchestra in the late 1940’s at Clubs in Indianapolis and on local radio stations. She graduated from Arsenal Tech High School, worked for several years at Sysco Foods before retiring in 1996, and was a member of the Frankfort Moose Lodge.
She enjoyed singing, camping, and spending time with her family.
She is survived by her children, William E. (Brenda) Parker, Jr. of Lebanon, Scott A. (Julie) Parker of Franklin, Brett A. (Sandra) Parker of Dacula, Georgia, and Todd A. (Lisa) Parker of Johnston, Iowa; grandchildren, Brooke (Jon) Adams, Brittany Parker, Payton (Trey) Higdon, Megan (Jay) Curry, Trent (Zarah) Parker, Grant Parker, and Garrison Parker; great grandchildren, Noah Adams, Eleanor & Lincoln Parker, Felicity, & Jameson Higdon; sisters, Deloris Bell, Marilyn Stiles, & Carol Gould; brother, Jack Duncan; & many nieces and nephews. Doris was also preceded in death by her brother, Tommy Harrison.
Visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m.to 12:00 noon, on Thursday, July 23, 2026, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana, with Funeral Services at Noon. A committal service will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel at Gravel Lawn Cemetery, 9088 W County Road 1025 South (SR 13), Fortville, Indiana.
