Hearing Scheduled in January for Lebanon Police Captain

On September 19, the Boone County Sheriff’s Office received information from the Lebanon Police Department regarding allegations against Lebanon Police Captain James Miller. Those allegations include unsolicited communication between Miller and a juvenile female.

Later it was discovered these allegations also included inappropriate conduct on behalf of Miller. Boone County Detectives conducted an investigation into the matter, and after a meticulous review, forwarded their findings to the Boone County Prosecutors Office. Initial paperwork was transferred to the Prosecutors Office on October 25.

Pursuant to the Indiana Court Procedure Rules this was assigned to a judge outside of Boone County Circuit Court. Through subsequent findings and continued investigation with the Hamilton County Special Prosecutor, a formal PC Affidavit was filed December 2. Hamilton County Special Judge Paul A. Felix, then filed the charge of Domestic Battery (Class A Misdemeanor) on December 4. An initial hearing is set for Miller on January 10, 2020.
