James A. Busenbarrick

Mr. James Allen Busenbarrick, 72, of Whitestown, Indiana, passed away Friday evening, June 23, 2023, at IU Health Methodist Hospital in Indianapolis. He was born September 17, 1950, in Lebanon, Indiana, the son of the late Helen Joan (Andrew) and Leo Harold Busenbarrick, Jr.

On June 7, 1970, Jim was united in marriage to Dana (Peabody) Busenbarrick in New Brunswick church; she survives.

He was a lifelong resident of Boone County and the sixth generation to farm the original homestead property in Marion and Boone County (some of which is the current site where Zionsville Meadows and Fox Hollow Subdivision are located). He took great pride in working the land alongside his father and grandfather Leo Jr. and Leo Sr. for decades. Jim was a 1968 graduate of Zionsville High School and had attended Purdue University Ag Short Course. He farmed his entire life, raising livestock and putting in crops. He held memberships with the Indiana Farm Bureau and New Hope Christian Church.

Jim was a ten-year member and proud supporter of the Boone County 4-H program. He encouraged his grandchildren to participate by becoming a goat breeder himself. The youngest generation learned to raise, breed and show their own animals.

He loved his family and was delighted when they were all together.

Survivors include his wife, Dana Busenbarrick of Whitestown; three children, Julie (Chris) Daisley of Lebanon, Jacob (Kami) Busenbarrick of Lebanon, and Jared Busenbarrick of Whitestown; thirteen grandchildren, C.J. Daisley, Kayla Heydon, Jordyn Daisley, Breanna Daisley, Sydney Daisley, Corbin Daisley, Kaleb Buzan, Jagger Busenbarrick, Scout Duplaga, Clover Dorsey, Madison Busenbarrick, Jacob Busenbarrick, Jr., and Miranda Busenbarrick; three great grandchildren, A.J. Starrett, Carson Daisley, and Hailee Daisley; sister, Jayne (Steve) Wood of Zionsville; and numerous other cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles, Jim was preceded in death by a cousin, Brian Pavey, and a son, Jeffery Allen Busenbarrick.
