Thanks to the generous support of museum members, donors, and friends, the Linden Depot Museum is excited to announce the completion of the exterior restoration of its historic Nickel Plate caboose. The caboose looks fantastic, and the museum invites everyone to visit and see this beautiful restoration for themselves.
The restored caboose stands as an important part of the museum’s ongoing mission to preserve and share railroad history with the community. This project was made possible through the continued dedication and support of those who believe in protecting these pieces of America’s railroading past.
The excitement continues at the Midwest Railroad Fair, scheduled for Saturday, August 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. at the Linden Depot Museum.
This year’s featured attraction is the museum’s 1837 replica Norris 4-2-0 steam locomotive, offering visitors a rare opportunity to experience an important piece of early American railroad history up close.
Guests can also enjoy train rides for just $8 per person, recreating what rail travel was like in 1837. Train rides are expected to be popular, and guests are encouraged to reserve their seats in advance by calling 765-427-3630. Space is limited.
Entertainment will include a nationally recognized Johnny Cash tribute artist who has performed for members of the Cash family. A food vendor will also be on site throughout the day, making this a fun event for the entire family.
Admission to the Midwest Railroad Fair is $6, and Linden Depot Museum members receive free admission.
