Lisa Garoffolo

Lisa C. Garoffolo, 67, of Lebanon, passed away peacefully Saturday October 8, 2022, at The Restoracy of Whitestown. She was born May 28, 1955, in South Bend, Indiana, to the late Richard G. Brown and Betty (Cooper) Brown Chaney.

On January 17, 1975, she was united in marriage to Tom D. Garoffolo at the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon. He survives.

Lisa was a 1973 graduate of Lebanon High School and a graduate of Indiana Business College. She held several office and management positions before serving as a Boone County Deputy Clerk in 1991 and elected in November of 1998 to serve the first of 2 terms as the Boone County Clerk. She also was Boone County Assessor for four terms. Lisa was in her 32nd year of service to the citizens of Boone County when, in February of 2022, health issues prompted her early retirement. Through her lobbying efforts at the state level, Lisa effected positive changes in legislation.

Her memberships included, Boone County Republican Women, National Federation of Republican Women, Ulen Country Club and Centenary United Methodist Church.

She loved her family and cherished Christmases together. Her granddaughter was her pride and joy and loved sharing in all of her activities. She enjoyed talking conservative politics, frequenting casinos to play the slot machines, and listening to classic rock music. When the 1973 class reunions were held, Lisa was a big part of the planning process and enjoyed when they all reconnected and reminisced. Caribbean cruises with family and friends were a time of great fun and relaxation. Lisa was known for making baby blankets for many expecting families.

Survivors include her husband, Tom Garoffolo of Lebanon; daughter, Emily Webb and husband, Matt McCown of Avon; granddaughter, Riley Webb of Avon; brother, Mark (A.J.) Brown of Raleigh, North Carolina; sister, Bonnie (Chip) Spelman of Cicero, brothers-in-law, Keith Stephenson of Columbus, Gary Garoffolo of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Andrew (Leslie) Boggs of Coeur D’Alene, Idaho; stepfather, Don Chaney of Fort Myers, Florida; and many nieces and nephews.
