Three Carroll County First Responders Receive Life Saving Award

Three Carroll County first responders were awarded with the Life Saving Award during the Indiana Sheriff’s Association Summer Conference for their efforts to save a man’s life in 2023.

On Wednesday evening, July 17, Sergeant Spencer Kingery, Deputy Kory Barnes and Delphi Police Department Officer Clint McLeland were awarded with Life Saving Awards during the Indiana Sheriff’s Association Summer Conference at the Presidents Dinner.

The three men were recognized for their life-saving efforts in June 2023, where they were accredited for saving a man’s life after his lawnmower accidentally rolled on top of him, which rolled him further into a pond and pinned him under the water. Carroll County Sheriff Tony Liggett congratulated the three men for their valiant efforts that were affirmed through the presentation of the award.

“Proud to serve with these gentlemen and all the law enforcement of Carroll County,” Liggett said. “Well done guys.”
