The winning basket came with 1.9 seconds left on the clock. West Lafayette scores and takes their last three time outs to plan how to keep Twin Lakes from getting the ball down the entire length of the court and scoring.
When the time ran out West Lafayette had defeated Benton Central, Frankfort, and Twin Lakes to earn the 2024 3A Sectional #22 championship. Score West Lafayette 45 Twin Lakes 43.
Drew Whitlock of West Lafayette scored 19, Benton Speaker 14, Keve (Kevo) St Hilaire 5, Benjamin Werth 3, Henry Umulis and Donovan Loudermill each scored 2 points to round out scoring for the Red Devils.
Twin Lakes top scoring was Gavin Businger with 20 points, and Jamison Ousley scored 15.
Some of the Frankfort Hotdog players were in the stands tonight watching the action. When ask Hotdog Sophmore Carson Hale who he was pulling for he said “West Lafayette because you never want the team that beat you to loose in a tournament”
