\"\"Charlie Nelson Pennington, 85, passed away on Saturday, March 29, 2025, at his home in Lebanon, Indiana. He was born on December 6, 1939, in Casey County, Kentucky, a son of the late Jesse and Flora (Allen) Pennington.<\/p>\n

On June 9, 1972, he was married to Peggy Lou (Isenhower) Pennington in Lebanon; she survives.<\/p>\n

Charlie graduated from Granville Wells High School. He honorably served his country in the United States Army in 1958. He dedicated 32 years of his career to General Motors as an inspector. After retirement he was employed at Carmel Concrete for 10 years.<\/p>\n

In his free time, Charlie was a talented woodworker who enjoyed building various projects, including a cherished playhouse for his children. He also enjoyed fishing with family and playing cards. Above all, Charlie was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather who will be deeply missed.<\/p>\n

Survivors include his wife, Peggy Pennington; children, Charlie N. (Lora) Pennington, II, Jim (Christy) Nance, William \u201cJesse\u201d (Lisa) Pennington, Jamie (Dodie) Nance, Lisa Pennington-Russ, Romey (Debbie) Nance, Roanna Pennington, and Crystal Pennington-Womock; twenty-three grandchildren and twenty-eight great grandchildren; brothers, Arvil (Phyllis) Pennington and Thomas (Roxanne) Pennington; sister, Fern (Steve) Baringer; and numerous nieces and nephews.<\/p>\n

In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by three brothers, Alvin, Ennis, and Frank; three sisters, Uzella Nietzel, Marcella Luckey, and Artilla Williams; and a grandson, Dustin Pennington.<\/p>\n

Funeral Services with military rites are planned for 12:00 noon, on Friday, April 4, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the time of services. Entombment will follow at Lincoln Memory Gardens in Whitestown.<\/p>\n

Memorials may be directed in Charlie\u2019s memory to the Humane Society for Boone County, P.O. Box 708, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.<\/p>\n
