The Indiana State Police released information that the troopers working in the Lafayette District worked throughout the weekend to ensure the safety of drivers on the road, resulting in over 250 traffic stops and multiple arrests.<\/p>\n

The ISP stated that over the weekend, troopers made seven operating while intoxicated arrests, conducted 270 traffic stops and responded to 13 crashes across the district. Additionally, troopers handled nearly 100 other calls for service, including enforcement actions to public assistance.<\/p>\n

Among the enforcement actions, a driver was reportedly arrested for reckless driving after being caught weaving through traffic at 110 miles per hour on I-65.<\/p>\n

“These numbers highlight the ongoing dangers on our roadways and the dedication of our troopers to keeping the public safe,” Lafayette District Commander Lt. McKee said. “Reckless and impaired driving are serious threats, and we will continue to take aggressive enforcement action against those who endanger others.”<\/p>\n

The ISP urged all drivers to obey speed limits, never drive under the influence and always remain alert while behind the wheel.<\/p>\n
