Susan Michelle Giger, 56, passed away on Tuesday, October 14, 2025 at Homewood Health Campus in Lebanon, Indiana. She was born July 3, 1969 in Lebanon, a daughter of David Lee and Linda Sue (Johnson) Giger.

Susan committed her professional life to caring for cancer patients. She worked as a nuclear medicine technologist at Roudebush VA medical center. She enjoyed teaching nuclear medicine to upcoming students.

Susan was the first in her family to earn a master’s degree which was granted from University of Illinois at Chicago in Healthcare Informatics.

She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Lebanon for over 20 years. She gave generously of her time to the church while teaching Sunday school and visiting congregation members unable to attend services.

Susan loved crocheting, reading, 90s grunge, tennis and spending time with her family and friends.

Survivors include her devoted parents, David and Linda Giger of Lebanon; daughter and daughter-in- law; Kayla and Laurel Giger of Riverside, Illinois; grandchildren, Conner and Carter Giger; sister, Laura Vickery of Noblesville; niece, Carson Vickery; and great niece, Palmer Jacobs.

Susan’s family would like to thank the countless health care professionals who cared for Susan after first being diagnosed with breast cancer 13 years ago. Specifically, they’d like to thank the oncology nurses and staff, Kassi Rodibaugh, Chrissy Nash, Erin Buckles and her oncologist, Dr. Brian Mulherin, for providing excellent cancer care. During those 13 years Susan enjoyed life and was a part of many milestones including meeting and spending time with her grandchildren and great niece. We’d like to thank the staff and community at Homewood Health Campus. Susan had a gift for quickly turning strangers into friends. Thank you for your kindness and care during her short but meaningful time with you all. Finally, thank you to her hospice nurse Helen, from Paradigm Health.

The family will greet friends from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 29, 2025, at Myers Mortuary, 1502 North Lebanon Street, in Lebanon, Indiana. Susan’s cremains will be laid to rest with a private burial at Oak Hill Cemetery in Lebanon.
