The Boone County trick-or-treat hours have been set for tonight, Halloween night, Thursday, Oct. 31.
Trick-or-Treat Hours:
- Advance: 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.
- Jamestown: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
- Lebanon: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Thorntown: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Whitestown: 6 p.m. – 9 p.m.
- Zionsville: 5:30 p.m. – 8:30 p.m.
Local police department have released Halloween safety tips for those participating in local trick-or-treat events. Participants are encouraged to ensure their visibility by wearing bright, reflective strips to alert drivers that they may be in the roadway or crossing streets. Participants are encouraged to check candy following the trick-or-treating adventures and not eat treats until they are inspected. Participants are also encouraged to put their electronic devices away, keep their heads up and walk when crossing the street while avoiding running.
Drivers have been instructed to be aware and watch for trick-or-treaters when driving on Halloween. Drivers have been instructed to slow down and scan the road as they drive to avoid accidents.
Those participating in giving out candy are encouraged to leave their porch light on to indicate their participation.
