Jan. 9 stands as National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day where community members across the nation are encouraged to celebrate their local law enforcement officers that strive to ensure their communities remain safe every day.
In 2015, National Law Enforcement Appreciation Day was created to thank officers across the country for all the daily sacrifices they make for their communities, their families, their colleagues and more.
Community members have been encourages to join in supporting the cause by wearing blue clothing, sending cards of support to their local police department and sharing their positive experiences with police officers on social media.
“Law enforcement agencies can’t do what they do—protecting the public—without the public’s help and support,” the Whitestown Metropolitan Police Department released.
