Ethel M. Brown, 105, of Frankfort, passed away September 20, 2025 at Wesley Manor.  She was a New Years baby, being born on January 1, 1920 in Possum Hollow, VA to Ed & Mary Catherine (Howard) Lowe. She was one of 12 children. She married Glenn Brown on September 3, 1937 and he preceded her in death on January 31, 1961.

Ethel was a longtime member of the Rose Hill Rebekah Lodge #88 and had served as past Noble Grand of the Lodge.  She was a hairdresser at Wesley Manor during the 60’s. She enjoyed working in her flowers, working jigsaw puzzles, playing all kinds of cards and spending time with her family.

A special thank you to all the loving nurses and healthcare workers at Wesley Manor, that were so dear to her.

Ethel is survived by sons, Jack (Rosemary) Brown of Frankfort, Sam (Lois) Brown of Virginia Beach, VA, seven grandchildren, Shannon (Larry) Bright, Becky (Greg) Garrison, Heather (Dennis) Coomer, Greg (Alicia) Brown, Kay Brown, Tammy Brown, Jeff Brown, 12 great-grandchildren and 13 great great-grandchildren, sisters-in-law, Wilma Lowe of Rose Hill, VA and Kathy Lowe of Indianapolis, IN, and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by siblings, Oscar & Nan Lee, Roscoe and Sarah Lee, Lucille and Hobert Wilson, James & Hope Lowe, Gladys & Ted Cavins, George H. “Tucker” Lowe, Roger “Buck” & Opal Lowe, Herbert Lowe, Charles “Gib” & Lois Lowe.

Visitation will be 6-8 p.m. Friday, September 26, 2025 at Robinette Funeral Home, Rose Hill, VA.  Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, September 27th at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Balls Chapel Cemetery, in Lee County, VA.
