San Juan, Puerto Rico is now – for the first time ever – on Indy’s nonstop destination list for summer 2026. Southwest Airlines will launch the first nonstop flight out of the Indianapolis International Airport (IND) to San Juan, via the Luis Muñoz Marín International Airport (SJU), starting June 2026.
This new nonstop will operate once per day on Saturdays from June 6 through August 1, 2026.
“This is another first-time-ever route and another win resulting from listening to Hoosier travelers, and our team working diligently with our airline partners to bring wish-list destinations to our growing roster of nonstop flights,” said Marsha Wurster, senior director of commercial enterprise.
Wurster said San Juan is one of the top three unserved destinations out of Indianapolis, where there is significant year-round demand for access to the historic Puerto Rican capital.
The Southwest San Juan nonstop will be the second seasonal new nonstop flight the airline will launch in 2026 out of Indianapolis. Southwest will also launch a limited nonstop flight to Cabo, Mexico for Spring Break 2026.
Currently, Southwest offers nonstop flights out of the Indy airport to Atlanta, Austin, Chicago (Midway), Nashville, Baltimore, Cancun, Dallas, Denver, Panama City, Fort Lauderdale, Houston, Las Vegas, Kansas City, Orlando, Miami, Phoenix, Fort Myers, San Diego, Sarasota, and Tampa.
