Wisconsin Man Arrested After I-65 Pursuit

On October 23, 2025, just before 11:00 p.m., Trooper Wiley was patrolling Interstate 65 near the 168-mile marker when he attempted to stop a 2012 GMC Sierra for traveling over 110 miles per hour in a 60 mph zone.

The driver failed to stop and continued southbound on I-65. Trooper Wiley pursued the vehicle to the 156-mile marker, where it ultimately came to a stop.

The driver, identified as James Richard, 42, of Ashwaubenon, Wisconsin, was safely taken into custody and transported to the Tippecanoe County Jail.

Arrested and Preliminary Charges:

    1. Resisting Law Enforcement with a Vehicle – Level 6 Felony
    2. Aggressive Driving – Class A Misdemeanor
    3. Reckless Driving – Class C Misdemeanor

Trooper Wiley was assisted by other troopers from the Indiana State Police Lafayette Post and the Clinton County Sheriff’s Office.

All suspects are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
