The Lebanon Tigers defeated the Frankfort Hot Dogs 48-6 Friday night, advancing to the Sectional Championship against Logansport.
Lebanon is back in the Sectional Championship after falling to Huntington North last year. The Tigers are searching for their first Sectional title since 1997.
First-year head coach Josh Yoder is also looking to give the Tigers their first 10-win season since 1997.
The Tigers will play at Logansport in the Sectional 20 Championship on Friday at 7:00 p.m.
Frankfort ends the season 0-10, their fourth 0-10 season in eight years.
“Obviously not the kind of season we wanted to have,” first-year Frankfort coach Justin Kinzie said. “Coming in, there’s a lot of excitement, but I think everyone understands that this is going to be a multi-year rebuild.”
Frankfort, depleted by injuries, played with just 19 players on Friday.
“It’s hard to not be proud of the boys after an outing like that,” Kinzie said. “You have to be able to take something away from a season like this. I think these guys are going to be better husbands, fathers, and community members having gone through adversity like this.”
