Robert Joe “Bubs” Ashley, 73, passed away on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at The Waters of Lebanon surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 13, 1953, in Lebanon, a son of the late Bobbie Joe and Myrtle Ruth (Davis) Ashley.
He was formerly married to Sandra (Ward) Ashley.
Raised in Boone County, Robert was a 1971 graduate of Lebanon High School. He spent many years as a delivery driver for Pepsi–Cola Company.
Robert was a lifelong Indiana University fan. He liked to camp, fish and enjoy a cold one with his buddies. He particularly loved supporting his granddaughters at their sporting events.
Survivors include two daughters, Andrea (Jeramiah) Westerfield of Zionsville and Alicia (Michael) Gramlin of Lebanon; seven grandchildren, Charli Westerfield, Caroline Westerfield, Callie Westfield, Emerson Wolfbrandt, Jazlyn Gramlin, Taylor Gramlin, and Claira Gramlin; and a sister, Rebecca (Alan) Bridge of Champaign, Illinois.
In addition to his parents, Robert was preceded in death by a son, Adam Jay Ashley.
The Family will host a Celebration of Life from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Friday, February 6, 2026, at the American Legion Post 113, 1020 Hendricks Drive, in Lebanon. Myers Mortuary and Boone County Crematory have been entrusted with his cremation arrangements.
