Sue Timmons

Sue Etta Broshar Timmons passed away on Wednesday, February 4, 2026, at the age of 82.

Sue was born to Raymond and Marjorie Broshar on December 2, 1943, in Lebanon, Indiana. She cherished her early years growing up in the country, where some of her favorite memories were made with her brother, Rudy, and sister, Roxy. For the rest of her life, she spoke fondly of her friend and childhood confidant– her pony, Ginger. She graduated from Dover High School, where she was involved in several activities and was a friend to many.

At the age of 20, Sue married Richard “Dick” Lee Timmons on October 10, 1964, at Dover Christian Church. In their 61 years of marriage, they could always be seen together– socializing with friends and enjoying time with family. Just as they were inseparable in life, they were not apart long in their final days; Sue’s death came just 5 weeks after Richard’s passing on December 28, 2025.

In her own writings, Sue said, “The best jobs I have ever had are being a wife and mother.” Her two children, Rhonda and Chad, always knew she was their biggest cheerleader. She took pride in her children’s academic and athletic endeavors and was always ready with a word of encouragement.

Later in life, she and Dick served together as administrators of Maple View Rest Home. Her kind words and cheerful disposition continued in her new role- she was always ready to uplift those around her. After retiring, she enjoyed time in Florida and at their home on Lake Shafer. Most of all, she loved time spent with family. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were a constant source of joy and always loved a “Nana hug.”

Sue is survived by her children, Rhonda (Randy) Poiry and Chad (Michelle) Timmons. She was beloved as “Nana” to her ten grandchildren: Taylor, Harper, Carter, Rutger, Brock, Erica, Micah, Derek, Colin, Cora, and her five great-grandchildren: Raelyn, Laine, Wallen, Caleb and Anna.

Family, friends and loved ones are invited to gather for a Celebration of Life Open House on Sunday, March 1, 2026, from 3:00-5:00 pm at Dover Christian Church. Private Family Graveside Services will be held at Dover Cemetery. Myers Mortuary in Lebanon has been entrusted with her care.

Memorials may be directed to Hope for His Children, 773 North 700 West, Lebanon, Indiana 46052.
