Dorothy’s life was centered around her family, she took great pride in raising her three sons, Roderick, Gregory and Jeffery. Dorothy enjoyed educating her family on their ancestry and was overcome with joy with each extension of her own family tree. Dorothy’s family tree branches grew further than she could have ever dreamt, with each new addition to her family Dorothy’s heart only knew to grow even larger. She and Marvin built a large and lovely family surrounding their home with laughter, support and lifelong memories.
When Dorothy was not with her family attending their various outings or sporting events, she had many passions that filled her days. Early on in her life she was a career woman, weather working on the family farm with her sister Jeanie, or in the office at Western Insurance those days were cherished memories to her as she made many lifelong friendships. She had a deep love for 4-H and the youth involved in it, she always enjoyed meeting and making new friendships within her community. She also spent many happy hours quilting, crafting and antiquing, finding joy in creating beautiful things and discovering treasures. Dorothy never met a stranger and had a gift for making people feel welcomed wherever she went.
Dorothy was welcomed to heaven by her late husband Marvin, her loving daughter in-law Stacey Sutphin, her parents Tyner and Bernice, and her stepmother Idabell Bowen who helped shape the person she became. She is survived by her sisters Jeanie Daupert and Pat McQuern, Dorothy also leaves behind a legacy with her three sons Rod, Greg and Jeff and her grandchildren and great grandchildren spanning over four generations who all brought great joy to her life.
