The Lafayette Farmers Market will return to downtown
Lafayette on Saturday, May 2, launching its 2026 season with weekly Saturday markets from 8
a.m. to 12:30 p.m. through October. The market will operate rain or shine.
One of Indiana’s oldest outdoor markets, the Lafayette Farmers Market has grown into a
significant economic engine for downtown, drawing thousands of residents each Saturday
and giving local growers, food producers and small businesses one of their most reliable
revenue sources of the year.
Now in its 187th season, the market has a lineup 120 vendors strong, a record. Of those, 33
are new. For Greater Lafayette Commerce, which runs the market, the weekly event also fits a
broader mission: strengthening local enterprise while contributing to the region’s quality of
life.
“Last year broke every record we’ve had — vendors, attendance, all of it. People come
because it’s a great Saturday morning, but what’s happening underneath that is significant
economic activity. These are small business owners making their margins at this market. And
when you’ve got that kind of foot traffic coming downtown every Saturday for six months,
that’s huge for every business in this area,” said Mikel Berger, president and CEO of GLC.
The market will again be held on Fifth Street between Columbia and Ferry streets and on Main
Street between Fourth and Sixth streets, placing vendors in the center of downtown’s
weekend foot traffic. It will feature a wide mix of produce, prepared foods, flowers, home
goods and artisan products, along with live music from local performers throughout the
season.
Vendors span produce growers, bakers, coffee and beverage sellers, meat and dairy
producers, florists, artists and specialty food businesses. They accept both credit and cash,
and many participate in SNAP and WIC programs.
Area beverage and food trucks — 21 in total — including Ghost Coffee Roasters, Crabby
Mike’s BBQ and Grace’s Macrons, will provide takeout options. Limited edition tote bags will
be given away throughout the season.

Free parking is available in the Columbia Street Parking Garage. Bringing your own tote bag is
encouraged, and many sellers are happy to accept egg cartons for reuse. Please note that
pets are not allowed unless they are service animals.
