A severe thunderstorm watch means conditions are favorable for the development of severe weather, including damaging winds, large hail, and heavy rainfall. Residents are encouraged to stay alert for rapidly changing conditions and be prepared to take action if warnings are issued.

Officials advise securing outdoor items, keeping devices charged, and having multiple ways to receive weather alerts. Motorists should use caution, as storms may reduce visibility and create hazardous driving conditions.
